Governance

Our Governing Body

The role of the governing body is to oversee the running of the school on behalf of both parents and the Local Authority. Their focus is on raising standards of achievement, establishing high expectations and promoting effective teaching and learning, so that pupils can achieve to their full potential.

To this end, they

  • determine the aims and vision of the school and make plans to achieve them

  • help to set and keep under review the policies that provide a broad framework within which the head teacher and staff should run the school

  • review progress against targets, ensuring policies and practice are effective

Governors meet at least once per term.  All Governors' meetings are open to the public to observe and notice of full meetings is given, with meeting dates available on our website.
