Reader Assistants x 3

 

Hours:  10 hours per week (Monday to Friday 1pm – 3pm).

Contract Type: Fixed term until 31st August 2022 (pending a review of funding and staffing requirements), term-time only.

Grade range: Grade 2 Scale Point 4.
Actual Salary range: £4,278.66 - £4,357.17 basic pay per annum for 10 hours per week. Pro rata (term time only).

 

We are looking to recruit 3 Reading Assistants to support our children’s learning and development.  This would be an ideal opportunity for a parent or for someone looking for a part-time role working with primary aged children.

 

Relevant experience of working with Primary aged children and a clear understanding of the role of a Reading Assistant in supporting and maximising learning are desirable.

  • Some knowledge and understanding of developing children’s reading comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, and love of reading.
     

  • Knowledge and understanding of phonics and how children learn to read.
     

  • High expectations of yourself and the children.
